When a process challenge calls for expertise you do not hold in house, the difficulty is rarely that the expertise does not exist. It is knowing where it sits, and who is worth approaching.

The Challenge

Specialist process knowledge has not disappeared, but it has become considerably harder to locate. Experienced engineers are moving into part time and advisory work. Independent laboratories with genuine capability rarely market themselves. Modelling and simulation specialists tend to operate across sectors you would have no particular reason to search.

The supply side has consolidated in parallel. Large equipment groups now hold broad catalogues supported by comparatively thin application expertise, with limited incentive to recommend anything outside their own range. A straightforward technical question can therefore take months to answer, or be answered by whoever proved easiest to reach.

What We Do

Knowing who exists is straightforward. Knowing who is right for a particular challenge, and who works well alongside whom, takes rather longer to establish.

Over thirty five years in particle and process engineering we have built working relationships with specialists, laboratories and manufacturers across the pharmaceutical, chemical, food, materials and energy sectors. We understand their capabilities, their limitations and their record, in most cases because we have worked alongside them.

When you bring us a process challenge we establish what it genuinely requires, then assemble the people to address it. That is frequently a combination you would not arrive at independently: a formulation chemist from one sector, a modeller from another, and laboratory capability from a facility outside the field you would normally consider.

We remain the point of contact throughout, coordinating between the parties rather than providing introductions and withdrawing.
